Bugeaters FC head in to the thick of the season with two matches this weekend.

The Bugeaters travel to Topeka, Kansas on Friday, June 28, to take on Kaw Valley FC. The team then returns to Omaha on Sunday, June 30, to play the Des Moines Wanderers again.

Kaw Valley FC plays in USL League Two.  Currently, the team sits in second place in the Heartland Division of the Central Conference, with a record of 6-4-1.  Kaw Valley is Kansas City’s USL2 affiliate and maintains a squad of mostly NCAA division one talent.

The Bugeaters played Kaw Valley twice in 2018.  Both games ended in ties.  This season’s matchups should again be competitive with the Bugeaters coming in with 3 consecutive wins against the top side.

In its last 3, the Bugeaters have beat competition 13-1 and are 3-1-1 on the season.

The second match of the weekend sees the Bugeaters play the home leg against the Des Moines Wanderers.  Last weekend, the Bugeaters came away with a 2-0 win.

Coach Robertson has some difficult decisions to make this weekend with his lineup.  The Bugeaters will likely mix it up this weekend given the depth that they have.

Diego Gutierrez continues to heat up and is expected to lead the attack again.  He has 3 goals in the past two games.  The UNO forward bagged two last weekend.

The game against Des Moines Wanderers kick offs at 7 pm on Sunday at Morrison Stadium. Tickets are available at the gate ($10 adults and $5 youth).
